From statement to staple; why Manolo's will always be a classic in our wardrobe.

Manolo Blahnik, for as long as we can remember, has been the focal point of elegance. Seen on many aristocratic women, and too, the fashion enthralled, gave meaning to the famous design.

But before social media influenced consumerism habits, many of us relied on traditional media, aka: Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and SAC. A reliable trinity of gossip, impeccable style and of course, the emphasis of owning a fabulous shoe collection.

Depicting this perfectly was Carrie Bradshaw as she challenged New York City in a pair of Manolo Blahnik’s. Alike was Olivia Palermo’s civil wedding ceremony in her Blue Hangasi’s. Yet with little effort, the shoe became the outfit – furthering Manolo’s cause that the heel simply speaks for itself.

It was with this information roughly 5 years ago, that we decided to invest in our very first pair of Hangasi’s. A safe purchase of black satin Hangasi’s, 4 inches with a crystal embellished accent shortly became a staple item – and noticeably one of the most complimented items.

Worn to almost every important occasion, it was the heels durability, elegance and sheer design that inspired a carefully curated collection of Manolo Blahnik’s that continue to withstand our fast paced lifestyle.

Fast forward to date, we’ve accumulated a colourful collection of Hangisi’s spanning pinks, blues and neutral shades, all of which compliment both winter and summer occasions. And when travelling, the convenience of having a reliable shoe collection to elevate any outfit only strengthens the argument for investment.

But on a more serious note, particularly in this economy, seeking quality investments will always require discerning judgment. Designer footwear can be deemed a depreciating asset, and perhaps viewed as performative consumption within a tightening economy. But this critique overlooks a broader redefinition of ROI. The return in this context may not be monetary, rather, it lies in versatility, longevity, confidence or, alternatively, the power to transform the way we carry ourselves through the world.

With this sentiment in mind, our Hangisi collection represents more than a beautiful item of footwear, rather, a wearable archive of memories over the years that have shaped us. A precious keepsake from moments in time: from purchasing our first pair each for our 23rd birthday, to dancing at weddings in Milan, sipping aperitivos in Rome, and roaming Paris’s 1st arrondissement after one too many champagnes at Hotel Costes.

It’s a design that continues to hold its integrity, both stylistically and structurally – making it, truly, investment worthy for the fashion inclined.
